Every not-running car on FB/CL is because of a bad fuel pump. Every badly-running car on FB/CL is because of a bad headgasket. This could only end in tears... Very entertaining tears.

Every paint imperfection can be buffed out. Every failed AC “just needs a charge”

Every check engine light is a bad o2 sensor.

Easy to find out if it is actually a fuel pump issue or something else. Jump the fuel pump relay  http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/457017/

If it could be had for any cheaper you could make a table out of the engine. Then send the rest of the car to the wrecker.

but i’ve got enough crap in my house as it is.

i don’t need more

seriously, i just follow the tracks on the floor, my living room and 2 spare bedrooms would classify me as a severe fire risk

$1500 USD almost makes this tempting if it is as nice as it looks. These are quite rare these days - but partially for a reason, because they were dangerously unreliable.  But for a nonstop repair hobby car, it could be something if it is cosmetically perfect.

I notice it isn’t an airbag car, funny to see the differences in spec between markets.

Yup. just need a short piece of wire and an understanding of BMW relays (which are not standard).

Also a great way to empty a fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel line and run the hose into a fuel jug. Jump the fuel pump relay and wait.
